Description

I gave the skin a coat of Athonian Camoshade, it dulled the skin down quite a bit but it is my only green wash. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. Additionally, I wanted the Ork to really contrast against the dark colours of the Emperor’s Champion, so I gathered all my bright and vibrant colours and primed the Ork the same grey that I did for the Space Marine. Armageddon” not only presents Bayard’s gripping story but also delves into the legacy of the Black Templars Chapter.

Designed to evoke a classic piece of Warhammer art , Bayard’s Revenge is an eye-catching mini-diorama that pushes the boundaries of plastic miniatures and makes for a fun, engaging hobby project. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Regardless of my reasoning, I started by giving the model an even coat of Army Painter Air Raven Black. This stunning miniature encapsulates the history of Warhammer 40,000, featuring two of the game’s best-loved factions having an everyday 41st Millennium disagreement – a perfect memento from this week’s 35th anniversary celebrations. However, yellow also works really well for green skin as mixing green with white just desaturates it making your Ork look lifeless. This beautifully detailed, collectible miniature makes for a stunning display model and also serves double duty as an Emperor's Champion miniature for Black Templars Space Marine Players.

True sons of the godbeast can also show their familial pride with a luxury Limited Edition battletome, featuring a soft-touch, full-art cover embossed with gold foil, gilt page edges, and a red ribbon page marker. So for example, on the skin this meant painting a thin coat of Warboss Green on the raised areas like the muscles. To really hammer the point home, I mixed Mephiston Red with Yriel Yellow to make a nice bright orange and used that to edge highlight Powa Klaw.

Sometimes it’s straightforward, like with the Black Templar Castellan or Eisenhorn, modifying proportions and rendering the details to a paintable size, and sometimes you’ll adapt to a modern armour design, as with Helbrecht. To begin the highlights, I first needed to layer the skin and trousers with their respective base coats. They did a pretty decent job of covering up their mold lines, but there will still be a few you have to take care of. Bayard’s Revenge stands as a testament to the enduring theme of the Warhammer 40K universe – the dying of the light.

We talked to sculptor Maxime Corbeil – who also designed last year’s awesome Emperor’s Champion – on the model’s journey from concept to reality.
