In our experience, the external bag (which admittedly, was never designed to hold human waste) opens too easily, such as when stored with gear. Still, we've never had an issue with the internal bag or the outer bag–the ones that actually hold waste.

This tent came with me on my recent Rhinogs trip (video of this trip is next on the editing pile) and it was just perfect 👌 The tent held up fine to the wind for the remainder of the night, but I woke in heavy rain to find that water had gotten inside, although I'm not sure where it was coming from. My things stayed dry thanks to my bivi bag and dry bags and I cleaned up the water with a microfiber towel. I hadn't seam sealed any part of this tent as the seams are taped, but I'm thinking I might need to seal it.. possibly the guy line attachment points on the sides are letting water in although I don't know for sure. Ahh, the Lanshan 2 in all its glory. A lot went wrong here. Despite being a bit of a pain, I still love this tent. But I’ll be saving it for summer haha! The hydrostatic head of the Helium is 20000 mm which is exceedingly waterproof and the Pertex material is also supposedly resistant to rips – however I didn’t wish to test this claim out! If you want to spend more money, then Outdoor Research also do a full Gore-Tex bivvy called the Alpine, but this is actually heavier.

I took my Hilleberg Soulo into the mountains to give it a good test in wind and rain and the weather gods obliged with 60km/h winds and hours of heavy rain Each WAG bag contains a waste liner bag that contains Poo Powder, which is a gelling/deodorizing agent.
