If you know your switches you’ll know that this makes it a ‘middle of the road’ type of switch, and I like that. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. The GLORIOUS GMMK PRO and the GLORIOUS GMMK 2 are two similar hot-swappable keyboards, but they have a few differences.

We've also added new objective evaluations to the Typing Noise test, and we've simplified several tests and removed several others that were no longer relevant. Further promoting extended comfort, the frame is angled at 6° to alleviate wrist ache, with feet that can increase this to 11°. We tested the pre-assembled full-sized, 99-key (96%) version with Glorious Fox Linear Switches from Glorious, but the GMMK 2 is also available in a compact 65% form factor with 67 keys. The Glorious GMMK 2 features an aluminium bezel with a polymer backing that forms a durable and robust base.It has a better overall build quality and includes a small toolkit to help you customize your keyboard. Enthusiasts will be happy to know that the GMMK 2 is compatible with QMK, which is a nice nod to those same enthusiasts (QMK, in case you don’t know, is open-source software for configuring keyboards and the likes that’s mostly used with custom-built keyboards) but I still wish Glorious would spend some more time in their own Core software for non-enthusiasts. The GMMK 2 is a welcomed refresh and stands as a nice contender for those who feel intimidated by modding, still want to get into the hobby, and stay under budget. The media keys, lighting settings, and profile settings are all accessible through hotkeys, which you can find in the user manual. You can save three profiles onto its onboard memory, and you can have up to three layers of programming and lighting settings per profile.

The GMMK PRO comes in a 75% form factor and has a programmable knob in the top right corner whereas the GMMK 2 comes in a 96% full-size or a 65% compact size. Overall, this ensures a balanced weight, which in combination with the rubberised feet provides stability even in the heat of the battle.Glorious Gaming provides hardware and accessories designed for elite performance, premium quality, and affordability for all and has challenged the traditional PC gaming industry since its inception in 2014. The keyboard stays in place perfectly thanks to the combination of the relatively heavy weight of it and the thick and textured rubber pads.

I live out of a bag a lot of the month and being able to toss it in my backpack back and forth between places without worrying about breakage feels good. The keys themselves feel very stable; there's a bit of wobble from the larger keys, but it isn't distracting during typical use.You can also change the look of the keyboard by replacing keycaps with different styles from Glorious and other third-party manufacturers. The GLORIOUS GMMK 2 and the Keychron Q5 are two full-size (96%) customizable keyboards designed with different uses in mind. This is the successor to the GMMK, which is a board that’s aimed at gamers, regular consumers and beginning keyboard fans, it’s not something that should be compared to the GMMK Pro (which is aimed at enthusiasts and people who are into the keyboard hobby) if you ask me. You’ll notice on the PCB that installing screw-in stabilizers is an option, which I think is great and I’ll probably move into screw-in stabilizers once I find the time.

They’re rather smooth out of the box and even though the lubing job isn’t anything close to what an experienced keyboard maker can do by hand I would say that lubing these isn’t a necessity at all. The keys themselves feel stable; there's a bit more wobble on the larger keys, but it isn't distracting. That said, you can also purchase a barebones version of the GLORIOUS and choose from more switch options to purchase separately and install yourself.I say this because Glorious also makes a board that’s aimed at the higher market tiers but it makes no sense comparing keyboards with hand-lubed boutique switches and stabilizers to a mass-produced keyboard that’s aimed at a different audience altogether. Further promoting extended comfort, the frame is angled at 7° to alleviate wrist ache, with feet that can increase this to 14°.
