About this deal

The author put in her feed the other day that the blurb explains exactly how dark and full of triggers this book is, and I reread the blurb like 6 times and I can’t seem to see where that comes thru. Also I got really tired of Rachel’s tears BUT she didn’t cry a lot. I just hate crying and never cry which is why I probably gravitate to mm romances in general lol. Less emotions usually. And her constant martyrdom got annoying. These dudes worship you just shut up HAHAHHAA.

like when you tell your boyfriend you’re not hungry and then proceed eat all of his food because it’s just better. So with that said, my opinion is that this story did not need nearly as many words as it had to let the events play out properly, and so it really started to drag. the swooniness 🥹. Sooo… he might’ve caused some bad things to happen to her, but he’s always there to help her after😅 like any good man would do 🤷 SPOILERS 🫶🏻Did he just close down a whole restaurant for the evening to cut her date short? Next level obsessed🫶🏻 If Joe Goldberg (YOU) and David McCall (Mark Wahlberg in FEAR)— I saw that movie way too young and was obsessed. don’t judge me— just so happened to… raise the perfect child it would be Lincoln Daniels. — Beautifully Handsome, Perfect Boyfriend, Caring Golden Retriever Energy But Also Extremely Alpha And Under The Surface Of It All… Completely Unhinged.

Word History

The characters and relationship building was also just wild to me. Especially Caleb (who I loved and was my favourite character 🫶 I love broody dom Cay) who was pretty standoffish and closed off to begin with, and then is just 100% committed to a throuple 5 minutes later? He reads more as being way more reserved and conflicted about it but none of that seems to really happen. They fr sit down and decide to all move in with each other after hooking up once by having a 2 minute conversation… I’m not exaggerating that. I loved when Caleb came out of his shell and got his dom on, but then he turns around and subs like two seconds later for Rachel? It just made his dominance, which is what I find attractive about him, feel so flaky?? There’s a way to still worship and treasure your partners without slipping out of your dom space but Caleb missed it. Now I wouldn't call this contemporary romance.. I felt like this was more towards darkish romance.. since the things Lincoln did.. Don’t get me wrong, I live for an unhinged bad boy (Zade Meadows, Lucifer Malikov, Jeremiah Rain, etc etc), but Lincoln Daniels isn’t it. Poor Jake was also just a babbbbyyyyy. Like cute golden retriever energy throughout but he’s so confident in the beginning, and then ends up just being insecure and whiny later on. I didn’t vibe with him at all. Especially considering he had this earth shattering connection with Rachel, it all just sort of fell apart in the middle. he falls first 💅. I looove when this happens, especially when the FMC is reluctant. He definitely does lots of chasing 😮‍💨

I also have ADHD, so I’m probably not the best judge of whether or not a story is succeeding at capturing the average reader’s attention. Gastric erosions (breakdown of tissue lining the stomach) due to H. pylori, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) or other medications Each of these men are so different. Jake is referred to as the golden retriever which is pretty accurate. He is bouncy, cheerful, dependable, lives to please. Caleb is dark, broody, keeping his hurts buried deep. He is controlling and bossy. Mars is a giant of a man, blond hair, beard, tattoos. But so soft on the inside. Quiet, introverted, alone. He doesn’t have anyone to support him. Even on the ice, his position is by himself at the goal post. But he can’t control the pull he feels towards Rachel, just as she can’t control her feelings either.

Listen, I’m all for an anti-hero. But having the female POV constantly say “we are toxic but I’m ok with it” isn’t enough here. This book legit glorifies abuse, frames a narrative about two mentally unwell characters who need professional help. One of the last lines in the book is “if I left he’d kill me” … Honestly, this is the first book I have read by C.R Jane so I am not really familiar with her writing Style. Mars Kinnumen is thirty years old and is the goalie for the Rays. He is Finnish. Mars is an amazing goalie. But he has been hiding an injury for weeks, not wanting it to take him out of play. Lincoln is obviously freaking insane but just as Monroe, I indeed fell for him. He was literally so obsessed with her since the get go which I just MISSED!! I just needed to read a book about an obsessed man after reading books about men who literally acted as if they couldn’t care less about their women. Wh… whaaaaaattt??? 🤦 you’ve been talking about how you don’t wanna be like your mom, and you just give in… like… whaaaattt? 🤦 it goes against ALL she’s been preaching/thinking throughout the book, wanting to be her own person, NOT relying on men/playboys, and then she’s just like The spicy scenes were good, but there was some cheesiness in some of them that didn't work for me. I struggled with Rachel trying to dominate, but also be submissive. I know that everyone shows up differently during intimate moments with their partner. I imagine that in polyamorous relationships someone may be more submissive with one partner compared to their other partner. I'm totally understanding of that. I think the issue here is how it was written, particularly with how she would try to dominate Jake, didn't work and came off cheesy. All the rest was sex, and while I enjoy a Spicy book I also want some substance behind it or a connection to the characters and this had neither for me. I also found out that cum play is not appealing to me in the least and made me cringe A LOT. No shaming to those who enjoy it but to me it was just disturbing and gross I really wanted to like it and I felt like it was super hyped up on booktok and maybe that’s my fault for having expectations that were too high.We got married that night. Lincoln called in a favor and somehow, I found myself standing with him in a simple white dress, in a Dallas courthouse, in front of a judge and his cute wife, vowing my life to Lincoln forever. Lincoln had made sure the vows didn’t say until death do us part. playing with broken ribs 🤔. What sorcery is this? Maybe I’m not schooled enough on broken bones, especially ones that help you with, you know, breathing (like ribs), which you need to be doing at all times, but I was 🤨 at this Then later in the book, Rachel tells Jake that they are soulmate. Yet she keeps wanting to add more dudes to the relationship with his best friend, that she already added…..MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!! This is a special book for me. Sometimes we refer to soul books. This definitely qualifies. I swear, I entered another plane of consciousness when the idea for this book first feel in my head. I’m so in love with every step of Bear and Silas’s journey. This is a book about two lost souls that find each other and heal each other and build a love out of friendship and trust. It’s about healing and finding a new normal.
