About this deal

Nothing from the DNA of the original J'adore, thank God. A new scent. Although it does remind me of Burberry Weekend, but by no means they are close, I would just put them in the same family. I've loved fragrance all my life - even as a child - but it's only in the past ten years that I've tried to learn more about the fascinating history and creation of that world that is perfume and its devotees. I started collecting seriously about then, too, and I recently realized that I had not one Dior fragrance! Well, that was a new reason to add another bottle to the old perfume armoire and I decided on J'adore EDP simply because it's a classic. J'adore is a beautiful floral fragrance with a sparkling fruity opening. Leading directly to beautiful white florals. The jasmine is stunning in this fragrance. I'm a huge jasmine fan, anyway but sometimes it's just perfect and this scent is gorgeous. I'm so glad I don't get any tuberose. I really thought I wouldn't like this scent because tuberose usually ruins a fragrance for me. I'm really not getting it here and I'm so glad.

Add a splash of whatever you like with this - and make it your own, (if you feel that this is too generic or unimpressive). Like countless times before, I don’t really notice a perfume when it’s new, sometimes because I don’t really ‘feel’ it and sometimes because it just feels pointless. DIVINE and guess what, I am not a fan of J'adore! No offence, it's just not me or my taste. I only liked a bit the EDT Lumiere edition, probably due to the neroli tone of Dior house.I don't think OG J'Adore smells like cigarettes exactly, but it does have a bit of that vibe on my skin, like the EDT (woodiness?). Again, my skin chemistry and nose preference is biased, as I am very much into strongly vanilla-based scents. I would estimate 99% of my collection has a strong vanilla base. For reference, I adore Miss Dior 2021 when I am in the mood and disagree it smells "mature" or like baby powder. Miss Dior 2021 to me is a youthful fruity vanilla with a wonderful, noble iris/peony/rose/lily-of-the-valley bouquet. I do however love the J'Adore L'Or (newer version- 2017?) for how it has the sparkling, clean, flowery, luxurious feeling conveyed by J'Adore ads, with a special ambery vanillic drydown. J'Adore L'Or to me is a wearable, more elegant, and ageless White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor type of scent. Fruity nuances in the opening, dominated by pear and melon. A cool floral heart with a light white floral creaminess ending on a woody and vanillic base. Simple. Uncomplicated. J'Adore In Joy has the ozonic aldehyde effect similar to the first sprays of perfumes like Calvin Klein's Escape; Estee Lauder's White Linen; Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds, ET's Diamonds and Emeralds, and ET's Diamonds and Sapphires; and Un Jardin En Mediterranee by Hermès (it has the same chemical ozonic aldehyde effect as these perfumes but does not smell like these). When this is sprayed, it is as if the chemical chord of this expands and interacts with the air where this creates an atmosphere around you. This settles down after awhile, but the initial spray has a strong type of ozonic aldehyde effect. The dry down finish does have a slightly soapy, powdery edge to it, which keeps it from being too young and cutesty—it almost reminds me of a sweeter, less woody Chanel fragrance—like a less woody and aldehydic No 5 or Coco Madmoiselle without the amber and patchouli. J’Adore is a cooler, fresher fragrance, tailor made for warmer weather and just mature and versatile enough to go from day to night. I can see all ages wearing this fragrance. J'adore (and LVEB) flankers never cease to amaze me. Most of them I like more than their mamas; same here.

Well... I owe an apology to many of You that stated here that J'adore after reformulation is just a devastating shadow of it's former self in terms of scent itself and projection.Dior J'Adore In Joy Eau De Toilette. This is really beautiful. It opens with a fruitiness similar to that of white grape juice, with effervescent (but not aldehydlic) qualities, nearly like champagne. It's deliciously sweet without being heavy or cloying, and I really, really think the topnotes are exceptional. J'adore In Joy comes in a renewed bottle with liquid gold-peach-colored sparkles that diffuse the light thanks to the convex bottom. The fragrance is available in bottles of 50 and 100 ml. Due to the popularity of J’adore perfume, the Dior perfumers launched J’adore L’absolu Perfume by Christian Diorin 2007, which, like the original, is complicated and sexy while being subtle enough to be sophisticated.

As for the salty flower: it's not that salty, so don't veer off because of it. Maybe this is the artificial note in it that might bother some customers, but do give it a sniff, it's not that terrible. Or - add something a bit more grounding for a lower alto type chord - pistachio or almond; dare I say vetiver? J’Adore is as pleasant and sweet a fragrance as you can get. It’s a cheerful, lighthearted yet calming blend of fresh fruits and gentle green and white floral notes. I get a strongly juicy melon fragrance at the opening, specifically honeydew or cantelope, followed by strawberry, pineapple and pear. The equally juicy magnolia lingers into the heart notes, alongside lily of the valley and tuberose. But the genius of Calice was making this simple formula smell expensive, elegant and golden. The complexity of the ingredients, the artistry of their combination. It smells high end. And that’s why it became such a hit. Everyone needed a slice of the J’Adore pie.

And just like every hit before it, J’Adore became a victim of its own success spanning clones, cheap imitations, and eventually even cheaper reformulations that have only made it a bad caricature of itself smelling cheap, trashy, plastic. Former J'adore smelled maybe not very complex or groundbreaking but it was beautifully balanced, made from the best ingridients and it really showed. Now it's just a mess. It smells like a peach body mist, it has none of it's former substance. Staying power and sillage? The second is non existent my friends. Staying power? It's gone after half an hour.

This is office friendly and I could see that this would be a perfume that would be great during spring/summer -- or a lighter fragrance to wear during the whole year - if this is really your thing -- and something that you resonate with.I've had this fragrance for a while now, ever since it was launched. It's a Like for me. Nothing groundbreaking, pleasant and fresh with no usual suspects like lemons or mint. It's sparkling and light, like bellini. Peach usually leaves cheap and plastic feel, but there are no such downsides here.
