About this deal

Personally, it was my least favorite of the bars. It was Mary’s least favorite, as well, because we’re both not big peanut fans. White chocolate almonds have the protein same as salty peanut and the other protein bars, and the only major difference is that it’s got 20 grams of carbs in a single serving, which is a little higher than the salty peanut barebells protein bar. The center is softy, and you don’t have to put a lot of effort to chew. The sweet and creamy chocolate coating and the crispies on the top felt good. The overall texture is spot on. I felt like I could taste the sugar alcohols a bit more in this flavor, but it wasn’t overpowering by any means. The flavor was on point and I really enjoyed it.

Barebells are the most candy bar-like protein bar out there, and they’ve totally changed the way I view protein bars. Anyway, at time of writing, Barebells protein bars come in nine flavours, which you can skip to using the links below: Ofc, cashew/caramel bar isn’t HORRIBLE… trust me… I know horrible protein bars, but barebell was just such a let down. It definitely was very meh, and I was left with wanting more flavor.

Barebells No Added Sugar Protein Bar - Caramel Cashew (55g)

It’s not fair if we don’t discuss plant-based protein bars. There are hundreds of thousands of people who use plant-based protein bars regularly. To make things easier, we asked nutritionist extraordinaire Jenna Hope to give an expert verdict on some of the most popular protein bars on the market right now (as well as subjecting them to a very rigorous taste test ourselves – it's a hard job, but someone's got to do it!). The white chocolate coating is lovely, but it’s still so thin that the almond pieces are still essentially naked, but the almond pieces themselves are a better choice than the go-to crispies of other brands. The core is soft with a slight chew and, although I’ve literally just shaded them, I do like the crispies in there for the subtle crunch.

However, you should know that plant-based protein bars are not as high as regular ones. Vegan protein bars have more calories, carbs, fat, and low protein than standard protein bars.

Barebells was launched in 2016 to brighten and shake things up in the protein bar category.

Barebells has somehow figured out how to capture the texture you want in a candy bar, while still providing delicious flavor AND very favorable nutrition facts.

Some of you might get a feel of artificial marzipan chewing this white chocolate almond protein bar. The caramel outer layer on the top of the white chocolate is well blended together. The flavour here is really nice. It’s definitely lemony, but not so zingy as to make you wince. The curd layer is a great addition, and any bitterness is beautifully balanced by the sweetness from the white chocolate. This one had crushed up peanuts on top and was coated in milk chocolate. It had a thin layer of (I’m assuming) caramel inside. I was the least excited to try this one because the flavor doesn’t sound that exciting. I’m not typically a big peanut gal, so I didn’t have high expectations. A decent tasty protein bar. It has the texture of a fudgy protein bar, but it’s less sugary. It almost tastes like a sweet-salty protein bar. The white sprinkles all over the protein bar play the role of a crunchy factor. All in all I was left wanting more coconut and more choco, and my jaw was left wanting a rest. Caramel Cashew (6/10)

Although the little white sprinkled spots look cute, they have no role in the taste or overall crunchiness of crunchy fudge, and I can’t find any part of putting any sprinkles all over it. I don’t know what’s happened with the coating on this and the coconut-choco flavours, but Barebells have certainly become really stingy. The coating here was thin, and even the cashew pieces were basically shivering they were so exposed. Otherwise the centre is soft once again, and the caramel layer adds a nice moisture, even if it is hard to detect.

It’s not too sweet, but there’s definitely sweetness to it. There are sugar alcohols (14g) in these bars to sweeten them, which often don’t sit well with my stomach. But after eating quite a few of these bars (multiple boxes) I haven’t noticed any issue with the sugar alcohols. Barebells bars are available in seven flavors. We have ranked five of these Barebells bars by their nutritional profile, ingredients, protein content, taste, and overall product offering. So here comes the list. 1. Barebells Salty Peanut Flavor Protein Bars Hazelnut Nougat protein bars have more carbs; fats compare to other Barebells protein bars. Also, the protein quantity is less.
